"Sales Jobs - Do You Really Want One?"
So you are in the hunt for sales jobs. Trying to find the right work environment that will hopefully provide a long-term place for you to put your unique sales skills to good use.
Potentially the best option available would be high paying sales jobs... well at least I hope so for your sake. So what is it going to take to find this type of stable sales job?
In today's economic environment it is getting more and more difficult everyday. It is going to require you to submit lots of resumes and go to many different job interviews.
More than likely to get the sales job in the first place, you will have to commit to working long hours (weekends included) and it will be for commission only, as salary plus commission positions all but disappeared in 2009.
If you are looking for benefits like health insurance, retirement investment plans, paid vacations, or yearly bonuses, more than likely you will not find it out there. I am not saying to lower your standards, but employers are definitely not rolling out the red carpet to get quality help anymore.
Either way, no matter what the terms of employment may be, you will definitely be dealing daily with office politics, long commutes (potentially lots of travel as well), and most importantly... some hefty competition. There are lots of people out of work right now looking for the same sales jobs you are.
So how can you tip the scales in your favor? Be prepared to negotiate on the lower end of the spectrum. Everyone else is and no matter how experienced you are, you need to be ready for a real reality check.
I know many people who are out of work right now who are seeing these conditions every day. Personally, I don't see an end to it anytime soon, as employers are realizing they can get away with pretty much anything.
I know this is probably not want you wanted to hear right now as you are searching online for sales jobs, but I would rather tell you the truth than to give you false hope. Now don't get me wrong here, what I am sharing with you today is what I know to be the overall picture of the job market for sales positions right now.
However, there are still some gems out there and if you are lucky enough to find one and get the position, by all means do whatever it takes to keep it. But I have to ask you these questions because I am an internet marketing success coach and I work from home and make big money online, and help other people to do the same.
If you are going to have to work for commission only anyways and more than likely you won't have many additional benefits, do you really want a sales job? Why not just start your own online business so you can leverage the power of the internet to make money from home?
Why not take control of your life instead of being at the mercy of a boss (or several bosses)? Isn't time you freed yourself from the daily rat race and started building something for your family that you know you can depend on moving forward?
The final choice is up to you, but considering the current job market for sales positions and other jobs period, I would recommend the latter.
